THE FULL WALKTHROUGH

From game to token, step by step.

Follow the full launch path: identity, your itchpad wallet, token setup, direct launch, and the 95/5 fee split.

Pixel art path connecting a game, wallet, and token launch

1. Login with itch.io

You sign in with your itch.io account only. There is no email/password or separate itchpad account. Clicking "Login with itch.io" sends you to itch.io's own consent screen; if you approve, itch.io redirects you back with an access token. That token proves your itch.io identity. It never moves funds and itchpad never sees your itch.io password.

We exchange that token once for your itch.io username and a short-lived itchpad session (a signed cookie). We don't keep a copy of your itch.io password-equivalent credential. The access token itself is cached for one hour, just long enough to sync your game list, then it expires and you'd need to log in again to re-sync.

2. Pick a game you own

Your dashboard lists every game on your itch.io account, with title, cover image, and description auto-filled straight from itch.io's own data, with nothing to type in manually. Before a launch is ever created, and again right before the token actually launches, we re-check with itch.io that the game belongs to the account that's logged in. You can't launch a token for someone else's game.

3. Your itchpad wallet is created automatically

The first time you log in, itchpad generates a Solana wallet for your account. You never have to connect an external wallet, and there's nothing to set up. Its private key is generated inside a private backend service, then immediately encrypted using envelope encryption. An AES-256-GCM key is wrapped by a root key held only in that service's own secret storage), and only the encrypted form is ever stored. The plaintext key exists in memory for a few milliseconds during signing and is wiped immediately after. It is never written to disk, logged, or sent to your browser. You can't export this key, but you can withdraw SOL out of the wallet to any external address, any time, from your wallet page. Full detail in the privacy policy.

4. Your token setup is prepared

Clicking "Launch" prepares the token name, symbol, artwork, game description, and creator fee recipients. The launch page lets you review these details before the token is created.

5. Your launch is prepared automatically

itchpad prepares the token name, symbol, description, image, and creator fee recipients from your game data. Review the launch page, then click the launch button when you are ready. No funding step or balance check is required from you.

6. You launch directly

With the launch ready, click "Launch token." The launch service creates your token on pump.fun's bonding curve. Immediately after, itchpad installs your on-chain creator fee sharing configuration: 95% of every future trading fee pays straight to your itchpad wallet, 5% to the platform. This is set once, on-chain, and can't be changed after the fact.

If fee-sharing setup fails after the token itself was already created (rare, but possible), the launch still shows as live with the token mint recorded, but flags that setup needs manual follow-up rather than silently reporting the whole thing as failed when real SOL was in fact spent. See the FAQ.

7. Fees pay out automatically

As people trade your token, pump.fun accrues creator fees. Triggering a claim on the launch page calls pump.fun's on-chain distribution instruction, which pays both shareholders directly in the same transaction. You and the platform receive the 95/5 split fixed at launch. No signature is ever needed from you for this payout; it's not a claim you sign, it's a distribution the chain executes. The SOL lands in your itchpad wallet, accumulating across every launch you make, not per-launch. From there, withdraw whatever you want to any external wallet from your wallet page.

8. Live stats, no chart

Once live, your launch shows up on the launches page with current price, market cap, liquidity, and 24h volume. These values come from GeckoTerminal's public API and refresh roughly every 45 seconds. We intentionally don't show a price chart, just the current numbers.

9. Someone else can launch your game's token for you

You don't have to be the one who launches. On the launch-by-url page, anyone can paste a public itch.io game URL and launch a token for it with no login or cost to them. We fetch the game's public title, cover, and description straight from its itch.io page. The entire 95% developer share is reserved and waits untouched for the real developer; the person who triggered the launch gets nothing from it.

If nobody with an itchpad account matches that game's itch.io username yet, the 95% share sits in a temporary wallet itchpad controls. You cannot touch it until you claim it, and neither can anyone else. The moment you log in with itch.io and your username matches, that wallet's balance sweeps into your own itchpad wallet automatically, and the game becomes yours going forward. If you already had an itchpad account before someone launched your game, there is no temporary wallet at all. Fees pay directly into your existing wallet from the start.

This does mean a token can exist for your game before you know about it. Read the risk disclosure and terms for what that means. In short, a live token is not itchpad or anyone else claiming to speak for you, and nothing about it happens without your itch.io login eventually being the one that controls the proceeds.

Summary

  1. Log in with itch.io for identity only, with no funds involved. Someone else can also launch your game first without logging in.
  2. itchpad creates your personal wallet automatically. Nothing needs to be connected.
  3. Pick a game you own. itchpad prepares its token details.
  4. Review the prepared token details and creator fee split.
  5. Click Launch. The token is created on pump.fun, and your 95/5 fee split installs.
  6. Trading fees pay out 95% to your itchpad wallet, 5% to the platform, directly on-chain.
  7. Withdraw SOL from your wallet to anywhere, any time.

Read the risk disclosure before launching. Token prices are volatile and speculative, and pump.fun is a third-party program itchpad doesn't control. See privacy and terms for the full legal detail behind this page.
